Farewell to LaDiDa

Today is the last day of business for downtown gem LaDiDa Cafe.  Sad.  The owner is a gifted cook who took care of locals and visitors alike in her comfortable place.  Couches and local art made you feel like this could be your home away from home, yet a great place to do business also.  Her homemade goodies, like this Pumpkin Cake, flew out of her glass encased shelf every day.  Have you ever tried a Lavender Avocado Coffee Cake?  I was convinced the homemade soups shortened my colds, or at least made me feel much better during them.  She made a different soup every day of the week with fresh and healthy ingredients.

When I said –  WHY?? – she told me business was down to0 much following a Main Street sign ordinance for her to handle a rent increase.  Many visitors no longer knew to find her cafe.  So this well loved thread in the fabric of downtown Half Moon Bay will be no more.  I wish the owner the best of success in her next endeavor, where ever that may be… and wish the new occupier of this space much success.

If you are out and about today, stop in to try something from her menu.  It’s a perfect day for a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Today is LaDiDa’s last day open for business.
