I am occasionally asked if I know of a rental coming available in the local communities (Half Moon Bay, El Granada, Moss Beach, Montara, Pacifica) - or - I hear of a rental about to become available.  I will post that information on this page.  Contact me if you want further details… 

Currently most people use craigslist.org or the Half Moon Bay Review classifieds.  A vacation rental site is vrbo.com.  Another source is local Realtors who hear about comings and goings all the time.  This page is simply meant to be an additional local resource for you.  There is no compensation involved - just matching the “haves” and the “wants”.  I can provide property management referrals if needed.

6/6/08 - Need:  Family looking to rent a 3-4 bedroom home in Montara/Moss Beach/El Granada/Half Moon Bay area from late July/early August. Preferrably furnished, but unfurnished could also be of interest.  Price range $ 3500 to $4800 per month.

6/6/08 - Have (on 9/1/08):  This one is currently rented but will be available Sept. 1st.  It’s a  3 br, 3 ba, approx. 1800 square foot 2-story townhouse, approx. in Ocean Colony.  Per List Agent Moira Fowler:  “Beautiful Executive home.  Redesigned for an open floorplan, custom kitchen, hickory plank floors and extensive use of natural stone.  Fully furnished. Compete with pots, pans, and dishes. Beautiful views of the 14th fairway.”  Gated community.  May include membership in Colony Club and close to the HMB Ritz.

6/4/08 - Need:  Family looking for a 3-4 bedroom furnished home on the Coastside for a week this summer, July 26 to Aug 2, 2008.  Willing to pay up to approx. $3000 for the week for the right place (simple ok, but clean and well furnished).  Would like to be able to walk to our great coffee shops, beaches, coastal trail, hiking, and restaurants - ideally to not use the car too much if possible.  From the east coast, now living out of the country, this will be part of an extended summer vacation throughout California to include Napa valley and San Francisco.  Email mb@mariansbennett.com asap with any possibilities. 

Don’t Forget this one!  4/10/08 Long-Term Rental Need:  From Nov. 15, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2008.  Need a fully furnished 2 or 3 bedroom home for parents of young family expecting a baby this November.  Mom and Dad live on East Coast and want to be here to help daughter’s family - daughter and family live in Pacifica.  Moss Beach, Montara or Pacifica ideal, other coastside areas would be okay.  Annelle will be back to visit this July to secure a place, if not before.  Contact me to preview for her.  Thanks!

5/5/08 - Have:  One level 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom townhome, approx. 1600 sq. ft., in Ocean Colony home on Turnberry Rd. is available to lease for $3000 per month for 12 month lease period.  Ocean Colony is a gated community with use of association pool, tennis courts and health club.  It is also for sale for $925,000.  6/6/08 update:  now withdrawn from MLS, will find out if still available.

5/5/08 - Need:  Couple needs a 2 bedroom home starting July 1, 2008 for approx. $1600/month range.  Single family or townhouse/condo/duplex okay.  El Granada preferred but anywhere between HMB and Montara okay.  No pets.  Washer/Dryer and garage needed.  Call Marian 650-712-2460 or email Marian if you know of something.

4/17/08 - Need:  Seasoned (20+ years) renter hopes to move to the Coastside from SF.  Two bedroom home needed between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica for Phil & Elizabeth.  Single family house would be ideal.  Prefer to keep under $2200/month.  Would like well behaved pet(s) to be a consideration.  Happy to discuss details if pets are taken on a case by case basis.  Earliest move-in would be mid to late May - thirty days notice needed for current landlord.

Vacation Rental Have:  Innkeepers Rich and Jen sometimes have last minute specials worth checking out.  Harbor Vista is a 3BR/3BA vacation home in Half Moon Bay/El Ganada area, CA with great ocean views, hardwood floors and a remodeled kitchen.

1/21/08 Need:  studio or 1 br. for single/couple looking to purchase in the area.  Short term rental OK - 1 month or more - can be flexible.  Call me for details.  Prefer Montara or Pacifica.  I have been working with this person (Sally) to find a permanent home; currently working on narrowing down neighborhood.
